Well yes! You’ve read that perfectly well babe! 🙂 And I know! You’re thinking. Hell nooo bish, that’s not possible! A good Mac Fix Fluid drugstore dupe? A couple of weeks ago I placed a hugeeeee order at Boozyshop. I bought a bunch of concealers from LA Girl Cosmetics for my clients. It was when I was scrolling through their stuff that I saw their Pro Coverage HD Foundation. Since I’m a huge fan of their concealers, I thought why not try this out too.
It’s really difficult for anyone to pick a shade online when it comes to foundations. But if you’re dark like me, the other struggle is to actually find a shade that matches. Without too much thinking I picked the shade Soft Honey.
The first time I used this foundation I was shook! When I swatched it, it immediately reminded me of my MAC Fix Fluid. The colour matches almost exactly with my NC43. My skin tone has a yellow undertone. The first time I bought the NC43 it actually looked way too yellow for me. However, when buffing it into my skin it became less yellow and matched quite nicely. But it was still a little too yellow to completely match my neck.
The LA Girl Cosmetics in Soft Honey looked also really amazing on my skin when buffing it in. It has a nice soft glow and doesn’t feel heavy at all. The texture is thinner than the fix fluid and less oily. It glides on very nicely, same as the fix fluid. The best thing about this foundation for me is that it matched my skin tone even better than the NC43!
So the first impression? Amazing! But will it still be amazing after my ‘staying power’ test?
I tested this foundation on a long workday while flying. After 9 hours this foundation still looked good on me! Not as fresh as just applied, but still really good. The finish is a little dewy, but not too much. The coverage is rather medium than full. Which is perfect for me, because I don’t like full coverage foundations. However, I do feel that you can layer this foundation to get fuller coverage.
With my combination skin, my t-zone is leaning towards oily and the rest of my face is normal. I didn’t have any issues with this foundation melting off my face. I do need to touch up during the day, by blotting and powdering my t-zone. But I have to do this with every foundation I use. If your skin is really oily then I suggest using a mattifying primer underneath the foundation.
What else can I say? I’ve been using this foundation as my go-to foundation ever since. You’ll get all this for the ridiculous price of €10,00 (prices may vary in different countries).
