How I create my Instagram brows

A video on my daily brow routine versus my Instagram brows. When editing the video I realized how crazy I look with a full face of makeup but with my natural brows.😖 Unless I’m staying home, I will always do my brows. I can walk around without makeup for days and don’t care. But I need my brows. Even on holiday or going to the beach, I’ll fill them in.

When it comes to brow products, I’ve tried so many products. The only thing I’ve never really used is a brow powder. I can imagine a brow powder will look a lot softer and it’s easy to apply.

Sporadically I will use a brow pomade. When it comes to staying power and no smudging, a pomade is the best. However, I do feel that a pomade looks ‘painted on’. At least it does on me. Unless I really want my brows to stay through the entire day, without any touch ups and I’m going for an evening look. I’ll use a pomade. A pomade is also a little more difficult to apply, you have to be precise and be careful not to use too much product.

My holy grail for my brows is the brow definer or brow wiz pencil from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I’ve tried out many other brow pencils, but this one is the best. I haven’t found anything else that even comes close to these! The brow definer makes my brows look natural, it’s easy to use and I’m fast when using it. Nobody wants to spend a lot of time on their brows in the morning. So I need to use something that’s easy to apply. The shades I use are granite and dark brown. I’ll use dark brown during daytime and granite (which is almost black) for an evening look. I find them a bit pricy (€23), but they work so well for me it’s worth the money!

When I’m doing my brows for Instagram, I’ll add some extra steps. Which is carving out my brows with concealer, to make them stand out. After using concealer it’s important to set the concealer with a translucent powder. A good trick is to powder your brows before filling them in. This will prevent your brows from smudging.
