Hi there and welcome!
I just learned that a blog needs a killer ‘about me’ page because it’s not complete without it. My first thought was, how the heck do I write a killer ‘about me’ page? And the second question. How do I write an ‘about me’ page, when I’m actually still figuring out myself who I am?! No worries. Let’s start with the basics.
I’m a mid-thirty girl (unsure if I’m still allowed to use girl but ok) born in The Hague in the Netherlands. I’m Dutch with Indonesian and Surinamese roots. My multicultural roots made me a fantastic cook (ahem), but I’m even better at eating different foods. I went to university in Breda’s beautiful city (about 30 minutes south from Rotterdam), where I still reside.
I started this blog to share (read: ramble on endlessly) about my two passions: travel and beauty. We all lean on Google to look for information on literally everything. Somewhere I’m hoping that my blog can be helpful or funny to someone out there. Or maybe I’ll make some new digital friends through this forum, that would be awesome! I build this blog by myself with help from Google with absolutely no prior knowledge of WordPress and a lot of blood, sweat and tears.
Seven years ago, I finally found a job that I love and want to do forever. That sounds so cheesy, but it’s true. I’m on the road and in the air most of the time, and I love it. When I’m not wearing my flight attendant uniform, you’ll find me at home probably holding a makeup brush or chilling with friends. I always loved a glam makeup look, but always told myself that I couldn’t do it. One day I stopped doubting myself, binged watched a ton of makeup tutorials and scrolled endlessly on Instagram through makeup photos, and I just started! Recently I extended my beauty addiction and became a certified brow and lash stylist.
Even though I have a great job, I’m always looking to explore more, learn more and do more. Nothing beats having your own side hustles to give you more freedom and more time to do the things I genuinely love. And that is trying cooking classes everywhere in the world and tasting gin tonics in cool cities.
Well, if you’re still reading this final part, I hope I have said something interesting. Let’s be friends? Would you consider this an epic ‘about me’ page? Let me know in the comments below!
