When it comes to my Instagram feed I’m OCD to the max🙄 Oh yes, I’m not embarrassed to say so. Creating a perfect Instagram feed is a never-ending process which takes up so much of my time. It’s frustrating when pictures don’t match together and you just can’t seem to get it right! Look no further! I will share my must-have apps for creating and maintaining a perfect Instagram feed. These apps have made my life so much easier.
It’s the holy grail for editing photos and especially makeup photos. Facetune came out with Facetune 2 a few years ago which has a lot of nice options. Most of them are included in a paid monthly membership (or a one-time payment of €75). I’m a little stuck in my ways and for some reason, I keep going back to the original Facetune (which is a one-time payment of €5). I use Facetune to smooth my skin and to remove a pimple. But the thing I like the most about Facetune is the whitening option. I use this tool to give all my photos a cool tone and to lighten it. Another tool which is really cool is the blur/defocus tool. If your camera doesn’t have the bokeh effect, you can use this tool blur the background which will create the same effect!
Instasize is the only paid app I have with a recurring monthly subscription and it’s worth every penny! First of all, there are so many cool filters on this app (see below)! My favourite editing tools are the lux tool and grain tool. There is an advanced portrait beauty tool which I use to enhance certain makeup details. The thing I like about Instasize is that the editing options in this app don’t seem to affect the quality of the photo at all. The editing tools are subtle and realistic. You can also add cool borders and typography. The possibilities are endless! Oh and Instasize is made to edit photos and videos! The app has a restricted free membership or a premium membership of €5 a month. You can try out the Instasize Premium membership with a free trial when you click here!
Enlight is my go-to app for all my basic editing like cropping, straightening, tone adjustments, temperature, adding my watermark and more. I think it was Desi Perkins who had a review on Enlight and I’ve been using it ever since. The tools I like the most is the target tool, the mask tool and the mixer. If you’re doing makeup shots, sometimes the flash can make your makeup look washed out on camera. With the target tool, you can turn up the saturation or exposure for a specific part. If you want to add a little oomph to your highlighter, this tool is the trick. But there is so much more you can do with Enlight! Enlight is a paid app, with a one-time payment of about €4 (if I’m not mistaken).
Snapseed is a photo editing app, just like Enlight. I use Snapseed mainly for one tool which
UNUM is an all-in-one app for visual planning, data-driven insights and publishing capabilities for digital content. Basically, this means that you can use Unum to visually plan and re-arrange your feed, schedule posts and keep an eye on statistics. I use Unum to plan how my future feed will look. You can import your new posts and drag them around as you wish to optimise ‘your perfect Instagram feed’. Unum has three different memberships. The basic free membership is free is perfect if you only want to visually plan your feed. The paid memberships give you more grids, more uploads, statistics and so on. Below you’ll see an example of my current feed and future posts.
Over is an app where I create my quote posts or other text/ illustration posts. This app is very much comparable to the popular Canva! There
However, I’m using the free standard option, which works well enough for me. Where Canva works on an app and on your laptop, Over can only be used via the app. For now, I’m still using the free option to create my ‘quote’ posts and some standard templates.
These are my must-have apps which help me to create and maintain a killer Instagram feed! If you try any of these apps, let me know
