Life of a Flight Attendant 4

Hello my friends!

Hope everyone is having a great day. Another ‘Life of a Flight Attendant’ post to keep you all updated on my life on the job. I just read in the newspaper that last weekend my airline welcomed a record number of passengers on board. On Juli 19th a total of 93,048 passengers flew with us, connecting Amsterdam and 139 destinations worldwide; this is a new 24-hour record! Quite impressive 🙂

Speaking of records. I haven’t told you yet that my airline has been elected ‘The regional airline of the year 2015’. Very proud of this accomplishment and proud of all my colleagues!

On a heavier note. On July 17th is has been exactly one year since the MH17 crash. There has been a memorial service in Australia as wel as in Malaysia. I can’t believe it’s been a year. I remember that day like it was yesterday. That specific day I was at home. I remember reading the news online in the beginning of the afternoon and immediately saw that another Malaysian flight had crashed. Although things were still very unclear at that moment, I just couldn’t believe it. I was totally shocked. My respect goes out to all the people who lost their lives, passengers and crew, and to their loved ones.

So summer season has officially started and we as a crew get to experience that through our rosters! During summer our rosters are busier and heavier. There is also less time on our destinations, but that is the deal when summer arrives. For the past years we were allowed to fly a maximum of four flights a day. As of september this year this will increase to a maximum of five flights a day. Holey moley! We got to keep up with the efficiency!

So what happened on my destinations? Two weekends ago I had a day over in Prague, which meant that I could spend a whole weekend in this amazing city. You can find my full travel report on Prague here. Last week I was in Gotenburg, Sweden where it was 10 degrees celcius and raining all day while the next day In was in sunny and hot Toulouse in South France. A good way to get sick! This is the weird thing about being a flight attendant. One day you can be in cold weather while the next day you’ll be somewhere where the sun is shining.

In Toulouse we had an early dinner at a Lebanese restaurant across the street from our hotel. The place doesn’t look like much, but it was very busy when we got there. They eventually created a table outside for us, because all seats on the terrace were occupied. The waiter who was helping us was very friendly and the food was excellenct. I ordered this plate with mixed grilled meat and a mix of side dishes. Couldn’t finish it all, but the food was great! The name of the restaurant was El Dayaa.

I would like te create a post where I’ll be answering your questions about life as a flight attendant. You can ask me anything, don’t be shy! If I have a bunch of questions I will dedicate a post to answer them. So if there’s anything you would like to know? Leave me your questions in the comments below!

So this was it for an update from the flight attendants world! I have been on an holiday in the last month and now I’m back to my regular working schedule.

Until next time!

Love, Sarah

*NEWSFLASH* GIVE AWAY! I would like to host a give away when I’ve reached 200 followers! I love to read your comments and talking to you. At the moment I’m figuring out how to host an international give away in a proper way, as I’ve never done this before. I don’t know yet what I would like to give away. But I’m leaning towards a beauty blender, the Mac Fix+ or a Mac lipstick of choice! What do you think? Let me know in the comments below! 🙂

  1. I remember the day MH17 crashed. I was in a 14 hour flight to the Dominican Republic to be exact, so when we landed we heard the news and some people asked if we were okay. It’s a terrible thing so many people lost their lifes that day. Other than that, the food looks great and this was a very fun read. 🙂
