Review | Gerard Cosmetics Lip Glosses

Hi everybody!

Today I’m back with a new review. A while ago I bought some lip glosses and lipsticks from Gerard Cosmetics. I have seen this brand constantly on Instagram and Youtube. So I was really curious to try it out. Of course most of these beauty bloggers and vloggers get these products for free. But what do you think when you’ve actually spend money on it? If you’re curious keep on reading! Today I’ll start with the glosses.

I got a 5 lip gloss pack and a 4 lipstick pack together with a huge discount of 45 percent. Normally the Cinco De Lip Gloss lip bundle costs $65.00. Sold separately the glosses are $24.00 each. You do get to choose which glosses you want in your bundle. All glosses come in this gold-colored packaging with a mirror and a light. Super easy when applying the gloss when you’re out in the club! The packaging is plastic, so nothing fancy.

I got the glosses (from left to right) in Raspberry Sherbet, Summer Sun, Madison Avenue, Nude and Cocoa Bean. The Raspberry gloss is the one I don’t like on my skin tone. It’s a very bright neon pink color. Not my cup of tea. Therefore I will leave this specific gloss out of my review. If you have a light pale skin this would probably be great for you! The Nude gloss is a bit too light for me. Madison Avenue is a little darker and more pink. Summer Sun is a bright red coral gloss and Cocoa Bean is a nude brown color. These last three are my favorites! Here are the swatches on my skin tone.

The texture of all glosses are thick, doesn’t have a weird smell or weird taste. Very important to me. The glosses are also very pigmented. The texture of Cocoa Bean and Summer Sun is great and it’s easy to get an equal application! But I find it hard to get an equal application with the lighter nude glosses, like Madison Avenue. Maybe because it’s a light color? I don’t know. I like those glosses better when applied over a lipstick. The glosses are not long-lasting. When eating or drinking it’s gone and you have to re-apply. The texture is thick enough to stay put, but do have a high smear out risk. So easy to have it all over your face if you’re not careful.

Conclusion: I do really like these glosses. Applied on top of a lipstick they’re all great. I don’t think they are worth the full price if you compare this to higher end brands. A NARS gloss is $26.00 for example. Get them with a discount code or in a bundle 😉 If the other glosses they sell are more like Cocoa Bean and Summer Sun, then I would be very interested to try out more colors in the future. When I look at my pictures wearing the glosses they photograph beautifully! Overall I’m happy with these glosses.

  1. Good to know, I’ve been really curious myself about the whole line!! I just might have to break down and try them myself! It’s just so hard when it’s not in the store for me to see! 🙂 -H

    • I know! I hesitated for a long time to order, also because of duties and taxes (I live in Europe). It’s always difficult to buy makeup online when you don’t know the brand! I’ll be doing the lipsticks in another review! X
