Sarah’s picks | June 2015

Hi guys!

Introducing a new monthly blog post! Every month I will come back to you with my favorites on the month before. Like every other blogger 😉 Not only beauty related, but literary everything I love. From a new foundation I just picked up to a new film or an awesome recipe I tried out. I get to share a little bit more about myself and my lifestyle with all of you. So let’s kick off with June 2015!

1) Books | On top by Anna Nooshin from NSMBL

About three weeks ago I ordered this book online. After following NSMBL for a while now on Facebook I was really curious on how it all started. Anna’s book is not only about starting up NSMBL but has also a lot of personal stories in it. I loved reading it. It’s easy to read and more important funny. Lots of things really made me laugh! Really recommend reading this. It isn’t necessarily a complete guide on how to be successful online, but also more about the road to how she became successful as the co-founder of NSMBL. For now it’s only available in Dutch!

2) Beauty | Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect mascara

Wow! That is a mouthful! I picked up this mascara a couple of weeks ago and have been using it almost every day. This mascara gives a lot of volume to my lashes. The texture is quite thick. I also like the way the brush is shaped. It gets smaller to the tip, which makes it easier to reach those little lashes to the corner of my eyes. This mascara only costs €3.39, such a steel! I also like the packaging, very cute. Will do a full review on this mascara and other Essence products soon.

3) Movies | Rendez-Vous by Esther Verhoef

I went to see this movie the first day it came out in theaters. I read the book ten years ago and I loved it. Absolutely amazing. Therefore I was so excited about this movie. Usually the filming of a book is never as good as the book itself. Sometimes it’s even horrible. But this movie was actually very good. If you haven’t seen it yet, I really recommend it. And if you haven’t read the book? You’re are missing out! The book is also translated in English (and many other languages), but I’m not sure about the movie yet.

4) Food | Coconut water

I can’t get enough of this stuff! I remember drinking coconut water every day on holiday in Curacao five years ago. When I came back to Holland I couldn’t find decent coconut water anywhere. Everything they did sell was coconut water with added sugar or it was insanely expensive. But lately more stores are selling pure coconut water without any additives. I got mine from the brand Healthy People or Vita Coco. I drink it plain or use it in my smoothies with yogurt and lots of fruits. I love the taste and coconut water is super healthy.

5) Fashion | Met Jeans

I’ve never bought a pair of jeans from this brand before. Mainly because I just didn’t like their style. But with a huge sale going on in the city I ran into these jeans from Met. I was drawn by the 30% to 50% off 😉 I wasn’t expecting to like it, but I did! These are the X-K-Fit jeans. The fabric felt soft with a bit of a stretch. The waist was low, which I personally like. Jeans are usually too long or too short for me, but this time the length was perfect! I am 1.65cm. I also love the fact that this jeans has room for a booty like mine but still has a waist. I got these 30% off for €83,00. Love it and will absolutely check out more from Met in the future.

6) Beauty | Turquoise Paradise by Escada

A couple of months ago I wrote a post about my favorite fragrances. If you would like to check it out click here! In this post I already told you all about my love for the Escada summer limited editions fragrances. Well summer has already begun and Escada released a new summer limited edition! The packaging and the bottle is almost the same as the fragrance the year before. This one is called Turquoise Paradise. If you’re into sweet fruity and flowery fragrances, I really recommend trying out these ones by Escada! A tiny bottle of 30ml is about €40,00, which is the one I got.

Beauty | Rimmel Nail Polish by Rita Ora

I love these bright summer colors from this collection. I picked up Neon Fest and it’s the perfect bright pink color. Lovely on your hands but also perfect for your toes. This nail polish still looked good after three days. These nail polishes also dry in approximately sixty seconds and have a build in base coat and top coat. I’m definitely going to get more colors! These are for sale for €3.99. Below a picture of me wearing this color.

This is it for my June favorites! Hope you enjoyed it and let me know in the comments below what you think!
