Max factor excess volume extreme impact mascara

Hi guys,

A couple of weeks ago I bought this new mascara from Max Factor. I have been using it on and off for the past couple of weeks. So it’s time for a review.

Max Factor claims this mascara has the ultimate combination of extreme volume and then intense dark lacquer for jet black volumised eyelashes.

This is what the packaging looks like.

The packaging contains two brushes, one on each side. The first thing that I noticed is that the package feels uncomfortable to me. The wand is really thick. But maybe that’s because my other mascara’s are slimmer. Also when applying a coat it’s hard to reach all the eyelashes smoothly. Probably because the wand is shorter than normal. Second I don’t see that much volume when applying the first coat. Another thing that I noticed is the smell of the mascara. The smell is a bit chemical. Which I really don’t like about it.

The second coat is the black lacquer. When applying this layer, I do see a big difference. The color is intense black. I like my lashes to be as dark as possible, because they are naturally really dark themselves.

This is the final result.

Yes or no:

Would I buy this mascara again? I am satisfied with the final result. In the Netherlands you will find this at any drugstore for €19,95 which is not the cheapest for a drugstore mascara. I bought mine in Germany for €12,00. Quite a difference.

It’s not a big hurray for me and I would probably not buy this mascara again. Mainly because I think that there are better drugstore mascara’s out there which achieve the same results. Maybe I would use the dark laqcuer though combined with another mascara.

Hope this review was helpful!
